Pure Perfume Oil

Pure Perfume Oil - Exposed

How to tell if you are buying pure perfume oil? This is a common question a lot of perfume oil lovers ask me regularly. Well first off, its not really possible to tell without actually looking at the perfume oil and smelling it, so assuming you have bought the oil and you want to know the quality then that’s easy. But first I want to dispel a myth, that the thicker the oil the better? That is not true. There are very cheap chemicals available that you can add to your perfume oils which can make them really thick but that does not necessarily mean that the quality of the oils has increased, if anything the quality has reduced because you have just cut that oil. A common chemical that is used to make oils thicker is called China Sandal.

The ultimate way to tell if you have bought pure perfume oils is simply by judging how long the perfume oil lasts on your skin or wherever you applied the oil. A general rule of the thumb is that a perfume oil should last between 6-8 hours but that really does depend on the note of the perfume oils as well as the atmosphere. Perfume Oils will not last as long in a hot country as they do in a cooler country. So you would expect a perfume oil like Light Blue (type) to last less than Kenzo Flower (type), but it should last between 6-8 hours anyway.  If it doesn’t then it may well be possible that you have not bought a pure perfume oil and it possibly has been watered down by DPG (Dipropylene glycol) or something similar.

All perfume oils available at Perfume Parlour are pure and we do not add China Sandal or DPG to our oils, we believe in only pure perfume oils and that’s what makes us different from the rest.
