Francis Explorer For Women - 0312

Im really impressed with how closely PPs version of my favourite scent (Must de Cartier) matches the original. You can test with their small samples which I have been buying for all the family. And in comparisons with other companies who also make their version of this scent PP is by far the closest. Very speedy delivery and great customer support too. Many thanks PP🩷

I based a couple of my choices in my latest order on the descriptions on the perfumes on the website and they haven't disappointed! One (Francis Explorer for women 0312) is a 'copy' of a well-known perfume and it's very close to the original, the others I haven't tested the originals but love the Perfume Parlour ones for what they are.

My first order got sent to the wrong address but Perfume Parlour were very quick to send a replacement - really good customer service!

The "Francis Explorer 0312" perfume extract, ordered with complete confidence from Parlour and received today, bears no resemblance to the real Must de Cartier perfume for women, which I've been wearing for 40 years.
I don't like this Parlour perfume extract at all; I could never wear it.

Rich, deep, timeless and complex. Agree with the other reviews that the drydown is gorgeous.

This is an amazing recreation of a classic scent, and manages to match the original animal notes with synthetics notes that you can distinguish only in the first few minutes. Dries down to a beautiful and complex representation of a classic perfume era.

I thought it was perfume not body wash. It smelt nice though

I'll start by saying I've not smelled the inspiation, this was chosen by notes. Wow, I love this I get a big Shalimar vibe from this, I will be rebuying.

I have never smelled the original created in 1981. So it is a vintage scent. But PP's version is without all the cons that often come with vintage scents. When I first opened my bottle of PP oil it did smell like any one of the big vintage, iconic, heady beasts. But after the oil version had been on my skin for just a short while and began to dry down, I was surprised to find that it had transformed itself into a soft, warm, elegant, classy, feminine, slightly sweet, powdery, expensive smelling scent. According to what I've read, that surprising transformation was also part of the delight of the original 1981 version. As it dried down the soft musky, woody notes appeared. That gives it a hint of the unisex. The base is also supposed to contain leather and vanilla. But I've got a poor nose for picking out individual scents. PP list it as an oriental scent. But for me it's more of a classic chypre with some soft spice and woody notes in the dry down. For me it's a cold/cool weather scent with good longevity and projection. From what I've been reading, the original 1981 was reformulated around 1990 to try to make it more suitable for younger customers. Since then it has had further reformations. But PP's version appears to be similar to the 1981 version. PP's similarity will probably appeal best to the 35 plus ladies. I enjoy wearing it in the cold weather as an antidote to all the sweet, heavily vanilla laden, jammy, fruity, soft spicy, danish pastry perfumes on the market at the moment. I hope that helps you choose. But do keep in mind that everyone's sense of smell is different. And a scent reacts differently on every person's skin. This is just my reaction to PP's similarity to this great 1981 classic.

Disappointed - it does not smell like Must de Cartier

Gorgeous rendition of this timeless classic, the best Cartier ever. Rich, smooth, classy. Amber, galbanum, tonka bean, civet, flowers, sandalwood. Very, very close to the original. Great!

Absolutely gorgeous! I had ordered the spray and the oil and PP did manage to send me the spray but they had quickly run out of this fragrance. I am so looking forward to purchasing the oil when the perfume is back in stock. A very sophisticated scent which I absolutely love!

Wow I'm in love..as I wear the original must de Cartier I can truthfully say this is spot on I've already ordered more today it's that good...don't think I'll ever buy the real thing again as this last so much longer on your skin...really happy thank you so much xxxxx

Oh My God!!! Fabulous! It's been a very long time since I last wore the original of this (Must de Cartier) but I can tell you that it is exactly the same! I put it on and got on with my day and throughout that day, was constantly taken back to those distant days, filling me with lots of lovely memories and feelings ...... so my memory tells me ..... it's exactly the same scent!
