Let me start by saying this is an excellent citrus fragrance for the more mature man in its own right, surprisingly long lasting (slightly longer than the OG) with moderate projection. I can easily recommend this as a 3 seasons fragrance (Spring / Summer / Autumn) and it is unbelievably good value for money.
Comparing it to the original, in the air and in passing you would not be blamed for thinking these are the same fragrances, which is quite remarkable when you consider the price difference, as well as the quality of the blending and raw materials chosen in the OG. That being said, if you spray on each hand and then compare them, differences are apparent. The below doesn't really carry much usefulness in practice, but is my analysis nonetheless.
As you would expect the OG smells higher quality and it's easier to discern all of the different notes in the composition, particularly the top notes, its much fuller bodied and this continues throughout the duration of the wear. The citruses carry an effervescence that PP does not quite manage to replicate fully, the PP version is much more grapefruit and ginger heavy, whereas in the OG it's much easier to pick up on the orange, lime and mint notes. The citruses have far more staying power in the OG, whereas are quick to settle down in the PP . The ambergris / ambergris accord in the OG is missing in the PP as it dries down, PP appear to have favoured emphasis on musky and woody notes in the base and as a result, lacks the animalic streak of the OG. The OG is a symposium of the highest quality animalic, woodsy, boozy, earthy, floral and herbal notes all intertwining and morphing as the fragrance dries down, you pick up on different notes at different times throughout the majority of the duration of the wear, the PP lacks this complexity and is linear after the first 15 minutes. The PP Interpretation lasts slightly longer than the OG and as the hours go by, the gap between the PP and the OG narrows such that by the end of the wear they are 90% similar.
Ultimately this is a no brainer for someone that's looking for a decent quality citrus fragrance with some staying power and that smells more sophisticated than the typical cheap freshie or modern designer. I would only recommend the OG to someone who has money to burn and who wants to show off, because this is very much the identity that Roja has made for itself, one of indulgent opulence that doesn't resonate with 99% of the population.
